For their last game of this first phase of the championship, the team travelled to Pont d’Ain to face off against RC Pondinois.
The pitch in Pont d’Ain was hit with strong winds making it difficult to play. This made it difficult for both teams to control their kicking game, thus forcing them to play ball in hand. RC Pondinois were surprisingly more aggressive than in the encounter that took place several weeks ago, which prompted Servette to a few handling errors. As the final whistle blew, Servette had found a way to score seven tries to win the match 45 – 3.
This sixth win in a row secured Servette Rugby Club de Genève’s position at the top of the table, meaning that the team will compete in the “3ème Série du Championnat du Lyonnais” beginning next month.
As soon as the French authorities will have released the upcoming fixtures, we will be sure to share this calendar with you.
