The club clenched a historical first victory over RC Roche La Molière
The weather could not have been better for the first official match of Servette Rugby Club de Genève. In front of over 500 freshly acquired supporters, the Geneva boys triumphed over RC Roche La Molière with dazzle and panache, ultimately winning 64-3.
It did not take long for Servette Rugby Club de Genève to get its bearings on the pitch. After only four minutes of play, Batigne scored the first try of the game for the locals, concurrently bringing the crowd to its feet. The pressure exerted by the "Grenat" did not stop there. By half time, the team led by Didier Cavoret was up 28-0.
Superior - from both a technical and tactical perspective - Servette Rugby Club de Genève continued to dominate RC Roche La Molière throughout the second half. The visiting team nevertheless erupted in joy in the 75th minute, following a converted penalty.
In the end, Servette Rugby Club de Genève solidly clenched victory over the visitors (64-3); a historical moment that the club will never forget. At the mouth of the tunnel, a traditional guard of honor put an end to the afternoon's display.
Servette Rugby Club de Genève will play its next game on October 5 against Rugby Club Abreslois 15 and looks forward to welcoming its fans back to the Stade de Genève on October 19 at 15h00, when it will face off against Rugby Club Pondinois.
