Servette Rugby Club de Genève would like to congratulate Arnaud Kooger for his recent call up. The twenty-two year old will proudly represent Switzerland in their autumn European Nations Cup Season encounter against Israel on Saturday 25th October 2014 in Netanya (ISR).

Born and raised in Geneve, Arnaud has sixteen years of rugby in his boots. Before joining Servette Rugby Club de Genève, he played for various clubs and associations in the Geneva region, notably wearing the colours of the Association Cantonal Genevoise de Rugby and Bellegarde (France) in Fédérale 2. His inclusion in the Swiss National Team rewards many years of dedication to the sport.

Jean-Marc Pythoud, Switzerland’s senior XV manager, highlighted Kooger’s promise: “I have watched Arnaud play from a very young age. He has always shown great potential and his inclusion in the Swiss National Team can only be beneficial to his game. I commend him for the great work he has accomplished to date.”

Didier Cavoret, Servette Rugby Club de Genève’s coach, shared similar words of praise and encouragement: “I am thrilled that he has made it into the Swiss National Team; he will gain a tremendous amount of experience. I also see this as an opportunity for the club. Younger players belonging to our “sport-études” program will notably look up to Arnaud’s accomplishments and recognize the commitment and application that he shows on a daily basis.”

Servette Rugby Club de Genève have made it a goal to further develop rugby within the region. Providing a player to the Swiss National Team at such an early stage in the organization’s establishment provides great satisfaction to the club. It is a source of inspiration for the players of the Academy. It also suggests that Servette Rugby Club de Genève have only scratched the surface of their potential and that more is to expect of the club in the years to come.
