This weekend, the Academy of the Servette Genevois Rugby offered us two great victories. The U16, who played away against Thônes/ Faverge, won 57 to 7. The juniors (U14), on home ground, beat Annemasse and St Savin with the impressive score of 38-0 and 40-0, respectively.
Olivier Ivangine, trainer of the U14, gives his impression on this double success: "Overall, we are satisfied with the progress of our group. At the beginning of the year, some players were not used to competition. We completely changed the way to view it. Now, the kids enter the pitch to win, not just to play."
He also adds: "The physical condition is an advantage in our team. Before, we did not know how to take advantage of our tall players. The more we have trained, the more we have understood how to use this advantage and it is getting harder for the opponent to beat us. Our efforts are paying off."
For Eric Bouchetout, the coach of the U16, the important thing was to "follow instructions". "With my colleagues, Charlie and Christophe, we insisted that they played as a team and that is what they did. It was a great game and a pleasure, really pleasant to watch."
